Ristorante Artemide

My favorite. Everything homemade, from bread to ice cream. Internal room with fireplace, and outside a large garden on the hills of Pontassieve.
Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, reservations welcome

Ristorante Arrosto Girato.

Via Aretina, 178, Le Sieci, Pontassieve, Firenze 0558309138.
Down to earth restaurante, memorable not for its furnishings but for its substance. They have a charcoal grill on which they grill chicken, steak, and pork.
It is possible to order takeout at half price. No need to make a reservation, it is closed on Tuesdays. An unpretentious place.

Restaurants in Florence city centre:
Ristorante da Mario
Via Rosina 2r (corner Piazza del Mercato Centrale) Firenze, Italia
Another Florentine institution, the wine bar has been run in the traditional style by the same family for more than 60 years. Rigorously open only for lunch, closed on Sundays.
The website reads: “no reservations, cash only. We accept neither debit nor credit cards. We will take your name at the entrace and will accommodate you as soon as space becomes available. We eat together with the other guests.
I continue reminding you not to ask for well done steak, which is used only for Juventus fans.

Mercato Centrale

Mercato CentraleFirenze gives back to the city an ideal marketplace of taste, redeveloping a vital venue in central Florence.
It’s a rebirth that returns artisans and their produce to the heart of the food scene.

Trattoria la casalinga

When eating is not only a gastronomic experience.
If you happen to be in via dei Michelozzi at lunch or dinner time, you will certainly notice groups of people waiting in front of “La Casalinga” restaurant: they are all waiting to be seated and they might need to arm themselves with patience.
No one disputes that eating well is, in itself, an excellent reason to go to a restaurant, but when it comes to a restaurant like this, additional aspects get imprinted in the memory of the customers.

Tuscan dishes, old photos, bottles of wine and paintings in a rustic room with a retro touch and a wooden ceiling.
