Just a few kilometers from Florence, nestled between the hills of Fiesole and the gentle flow of the Arno, Eridu is more than a B&B: it’s a home immersed in nature, where every detail is designed to make you feel welcome.

An old 14th-century stone farmhouse, carefully restored and surrounded by greenery, where time slows down and silence carries the scent of earth and wood.

Here, you’ll feel at home—pampered by wholesome breakfasts, open spaces, and the warmth of a genuine, family-style hospitality.

“When the heavenly kingdom came down to earth, it flourished in Eridu…”

So reads the oldest known Sumerian king list, written in cuneiform at the end of the 3rd millennium BC.

Eridu, in Sumerian mythology and confirmed by archaeology, is perhaps the first human settlement—the world’s first city—founded in southern Mesopotamia near the Euphrates River, and a cultural center of Sumerian society.

It is from this ancient myth that we drew inspiration for our bed & breakfast in Fiesole, in the small and welcoming village of Ellera.

Etymologically, the name Eridu means: “your home away from home”. And from the very choice of this name, we’ve embraced a spirit of hospitality that is warm and informal—where it’s easy to feel at ease, and where the idea of hospitality blends with familiarity and friendship. For this reason, our cozy B&B is especially recommended for longer stays.
